Each One Teach One
Discipleship Lessons
It is not the goal of these discipleship lessons to make organizational
“members” for any group out of those who study the lessons. The goal is rather
to help individuals grow spiritually, and bear fruit as disciples of Christ.
The discipleship lessons of many denominations cover such topics as the life
of the denomination's founder, details of required doctrinal beliefs,
prescriptions for approved "life style" (clothing styles, hair lengths for men
and women, acceptable leisure activities), and behavioral expectations (How much
Bible Study is enough? How much prayer is enough?)
These discipleship lessons do not follow this pattern. These lessons cover
broad Biblical principles which are vital for a growing Christian. They are
divided into four areas of emphasis:
-
FAITH THAT LOOKS UP: Establishing your FAITH
in God
-
FAITH THAT GROWS UP: Growing in your FAITH
-
FAITH THAT LIFTS UP: Learning to share your
FAITH
-
FAITH THAT BUILDS UP: Participating in the
"Household of FAITH"
These lessons will enable you to:
-
Understand
the basics of faith in God through the Savior Jesus
Christ
-
Gain
assurance as a child of God
-
Realize
the importance of spiritual growth and maturity
-
Prepare
to lead others to faith in God through Jesus
-
Prepare
for positions of service in the Body
Although the format of the lessons lends itself to individual, independent
study, their ideal use would be in an interactive setting. You are encouraged to
use them as a tool to work with other individuals or small study groups. In that
setting, each person would be encouraged to study the material for each lesson
and fill in the answers to discussion questions and quizzes, in preparation for
an interactive session with others.
Thus after you have studied the material to aid in your own growth as a
disciple, you are encouraged to use it in “discipling” others. After you
download the lesson materials, you can use one of three methods to share the
materials with others:
1. Encourage others with Internet access to download and print out their own
personal copy.
2. Print out a master copy that you keep on file and use to make photocopies
as often as needed.
3. Print out a new copy from the file you downloaded each time you need one
to share with someone else
The links on this page are for downloading ".pdf" ("portable document
format") files of all of the sections of the Course. PDF files take material created with any
word processing program and make it easy for other computers to read even
if they do not have the same
word processing program. The original files are translated to a form that
can be read by any computer that has the free Adobe Acrobat Reader
program installed. Files opened by the Acrobat Reader can be easily
printed out. The Acrobat Reader is available on the Internet for free
download.
